Our Church organized a tour to the Holy Land (Israel and Palestine). We decided to join it. The Tour company that organized and run the tour is Called GMTours, 1515 Britannia Rd., Suite 326, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. We did not have a good experience. To begin with, several of the places in the itinerary were not visited during the tour, even when the promise in the itinerary was that the order of visiting may change, but ALL the places will be visited. Regarding changing the order, we did that in spades, to the point that it seemed that we were running in circles. Once we were back, it was impossible to use the printed itinerary to find out what we visite when. The second issue was the quality of the guide. The guide was self centred, arrogant, and rude. He insulted some of the people in the group. The guide, who was Palestinian, spent more time talking about how bad Israel was than giving us the historic and religious information about the sites visited. But what most bothered me is that some very important places in Israel were not visited at all, which made this a very incomplete tour. We spent very little time in Jerusalem, which is ridiculous in an Israel tour. The last item that really bothered me was that we were force to shop in 4 or 5 selected shops, selected by the tour company, and had no freedom to do our own shopping. The places we were forced into were very expensive. If you really want to get to know Israel, the West Bank, and the many significant religious places in the area, I suggest you stay away from this tour company. We know that we will not use them again.
