Very Expired Product

3

This is a copy of a letter I sent to management of store #1081: Dear Manager, I purchased two bags of Hyvee brand chips because of the buy 1 get 1 free sale. I bought a bag of nacho cheese tortilla chips and a bag of ranch flavored tortilla chips. I actually had to blow dust off of the bag next to the one I wanted because I honestly couldn't believe there's that much dust on product that's on display. I got both bags from the top shelf in the chip aisle and if you're reading this email Saturday morning, I'd encourage you to go look at the dates and condition of the bags for yourself. As you can see from the attached file, the ranch chips expired on February 5, 2020. That means they were, as I calculated it, 149 days past their expiration date. Or, put another way, just over 21 weeks past due. I'm not the type of consumer who gets overly concerned about product a few days past due but this seems pretty excessive to me and there seems to have been a serious breakdown in quality control. I'm happy to come back and exchange it and if you feel the need to compensate me for the trouble, great. If not, that's OK too. I'm not writing this to get free stuff. Please let me know what you'd like me to do so we can resolve this as soon as possible. Travis User's recommendation: Check the expiration dates! The dust should have clued me in but I'm a little slow sometimes.
