I place a deposit of $1,000 on a property using a PERSONAL MONEY ORDER (if you are unfamiliar with a Personal Money Order, it is equal to a Certified Check, only less expensive - Your Bank issues the check's to the Payee) on 9/13. On 9/20, a home inspection was done on the property and not completed as we stopped because the home will be soon falling into the crawl space, it was that rotted. We canceled the contract. I assumed that I would be getting my deposit back within a week. I did not and contacted the Seller's Agent of KW Stroudsburg on the 26th - I've contacted them several times since and am still receiving the same response, "the check is in the mail" . . . its now 10/11 and still not check. I've also cc'd the legal department of their corporate office in Austin, Tx hoping they could assist, but haven't heard from them either. I guess its off to an Attorney's office on Monday - all these bad reviews/complaints (and I'm not nearly done) for the return of my deposit.
