I got a vanilla visa card through another credit card rewards program. I was never able to activate and use the vanilla card. The activation process is very cumbersome and doesn't work. Customer service was no help. It seemed as though they were trying to resolve the issue, but I don't know if they were or just giving me a run around. User's recommendation: Don't ever get a vanilla gift card.
