Travelocity failed to pay car rental company as part of a package

On March 2021 I purchased a packet that included a roundtrip flight and a rental car. The car rental company representative (Thrifty car rental) did not disclose problems receiving payment from Travelocity and led me to believe their charge to my credit card was going to be reimbursed but it didn't. To make a long story short, this led to multiple calls, to both Thrifty and Travelocity (many hours lost on hold), and back and forth issues with my credit card dispute. When I was finally able to speak with a Travelocity agent who said they will take care of it and admitted it was their mistake, now, months later I am getting a letter from Thrifty requesting their payment. User's recommendation: Do not pre-pay car rental. Choose option to pay at moment of Rental.
