The apartment above me got infested with bed bugs and they had to treat the apartment. My daughter had a bump and I was worried it might be a bed bug that had got into my apartment as well. I threw her mattress away and purchased a new one, and I asked for an inspection of my apartment for bed bugs. Upon inspecting my apartment the pest control company said they couldn’t find any signs of bed bugs. THERE WERE NO BEDBUGS IN MY APARTMENT BUT AS A PRECAUTION I ASKED THAT MY APARTMENT GOT TREATED AS WELL. I got a call from Brandon on Sunday January 22nd that my apartment would be treated on the 23rd of January; I had the flu and told him I didn’t think it would be a good time. On the 27th of January at 10am, I was approached by Chelsea and she informed me that they wanted to schedule an appointment for treatment of my apartment on Monday January 30th and she wanted to schedule a meeting with the pest control company on the 28th for steps that need to be taken. I told her I had to be at work at 8am in the morning on the 28th and I wouldn’t be back till 6pm. I asked if the treatment could be rescheduled and at that point in time Kelee Flannery stepped in and said they will not reschedule and the treatment must be done on Monday the 30th. I told Ms. Flannery that I was off on Monday and I had nowhere where my daughter and I could stay for the 6 hour period that the apartment needed to be evacuated for. I am not from Maryland and I have no family that I could stay with, and at 8am everyone I knew would be at work, she said she didn’t care but the apartment (which by the way has no bedbugs in it) must be treated on the 30th. I asked if she could please reschedule and she refused. I was at work and received a call from Chelsea asking if the treatment could be done on Tuesday and I said yes that was fine, I heard her speaking to Ms. flannery and then she gets back on the phone and starts to threaten me that if I didn’t get the treatment done I was going to be charged for the treatment that I refuse and I would asked to evacuate. I told her that was not the case, I DID NOT REFUSE TREATMENT, I SIMPLY ASKED TO BE GIVEN ANOTHER DATE WHERE I COULD MAKE NECESSARY ARRANGEMENTS FOR MY DAUGHTER AND I TO STAY. I have been at this apartment since July of 2008, I have always paid my rent on time every time, and to bullied by Ms. Flannery is unacceptable. MY LEASE IS UP AS OF THE 30TH OF JANUARY AND I WILL NOT BE RENEWING IT, THIS IS MY 60 DAY NOTICE OF MY INTENT TO VACATE THE APARTMENT. I am handing this letter to BRANDON JACKSON, and I will also be handing a copy to my lawyer. I have also contacted the Better Business Bureau because not only do I know business shouldn’t be conducted this was, I do not feel people should be bullied by people who are supposed to be there to help them.
