The date was 16th Dec 2019. The above company sends a MT 799 form European Marchant Trade Bank Limited to us. They even went ahead and issued a so-called hard copy with a FedEx tracking number. Which was delivered by 23rd Dec 2019 to our Bank? My the time the New year rolled around we found out that the issuing Bank was fake with no contact number that worked. They provided us a London Address and a Hong Kong phone number of a guy called William Chan +[protected] with the email [protected]@europeanmerchantradebank.com. It has been a mess and we are still trying to fix the present situation. The deal originated from China and it seems it is a constant issue to parties that deal in China.
