shopsmarter (SS) insinuated itself in what I thought was a Best Buy (BB) website (probably with Best Buy's complicity), with an offer for $5 off for a purchase I had just made on the BB website. I started filling out the info for the $5 refund, but they were asking for too much information, and so I stopped. It wasn't until I found a charge on my credit card statement that I realized that SS charges a monthly membership, which is probably hidden in the agreement that I clicked on as I provided info for the $5 off.
