THE – TRUTH –

GREAT! Lets maybe explore the "other side" of the story.... These customers basically do the ALL or most of the following when hiring a * MOVER *: 1) They will take not hours, but DAYS scouring the internet, local bulletin postings, and referrals to find the CHEAPEST possible mover known to man - which almost always is ARCH MOVERS (exactly why we find NUTJOBS like this) 2) While calling ARCH MOVERS the customer asks typically what is your "hourly charges/fees/services" and then proceed to tell me how they are a single mom, on a fixed income, a starving student, on welfare, or simply just BROKE! Then once they have finally found a soft spot in my heart (me just being a sucker) I finally give in and now instead of charging a 1/4 of what a "normal" moving co. charges I now charge a 1/10 of what they charge for their "small" move, yes SMALL - almost EVERY one of the above customers said they had a SMALL move as in a 2500+ sq ft house full of 300lb dressers and boxes to the ceiling is "SMALL" ... yes, of course their is ALWAYS STAIRS! why else would they be calling ARCH MOVERS (another "normal company charges EXTRA for stairs/long carries) so of course they could not use a "normal" mover. 3) When booking the job the customer usually DEMANDS that we be at their house/apartment at an EXACT time...Not keeping in mind this is MOVING which can be tricky for time constraints ( i.e. taking of doors, taking apart & putting back together beds, customers adding on furniture, TRAFFIC, and of course STAIRS) 4) When arriving on the "small" job we are so nice to give a discount on the "small" apartment that the customer (on a fixed income) mentioned on the day he/she booked the job suddenly is a 5 bedroom MANSION in Wildwood, and the first thing they say is you guys are 2 hours late!!! now go move my MANSION or I wont pay you your $150 for the 8 hours of work that you have all day in 115 degree heat. 5) when #4 happens, I as the OWNER simply ask the customer to have some kind of decency or heart and not take advantage of a small business trying to get on its feet and pay us a FAIR wage. As soon as I ask this simple and respectable request it TURNS QUICKLY into: NO!!! OMG! NOOOO!! I am NOT paying you a penny more than what we discussed on the phone the say I booked your company....(basically saying I found a SUCKER and now its my god given talent to take advantage of your company & workers, and I will sleep god at night because you UNDERQUOTED my move! I also appreciate the $500 discount you gave me because I AM A SINGLE MOM or on a fixed income in my 2500+ sq ft house in WildWood,MO. 6) OK! even though the customer is receiving a $2000 MOVING job for $185 (oh, I know its my fault for the UNDERBID) it still is not enough though as the customer tells me that my workers damaged their $8,000 dresser (I have seen better stuff at the flea market on St.Charles Rock Road) so now the $185 you guys worked ALL day & NIGHT for I am NOT giving you it! Get in your moving truck and LEAVE my property or I am going to call the police. 7) When #6 happens and I refuse to except such a cold hearted act, the person usually threatens me with an ONLINE - BLACKMAIL - ASSAULT of something along the lines of: If you keep asking me for your money I will report you to the BBB, Attorney General, write ads about you on Craigslist, and tell everyone of my facebook friends about your company.... 8) I have made mistakes throughout the years of trying to get my business off the ground ( as can be expected from a young entrepreneur) and have learned from my mistakes) but the BLACKMAIL and HARASSMENT online is OUTRAGEOUS - these people need to seriously move on with their life and next time try their luck with a reputable - expensive - overpriced mover (theres TONS of the to choose from hint: DO NOT try craigslist0 and then they can try their tricks & scam on them to see how far they can get with their $185)
