Terrible quality purse

I bought a purse and had it for 4 months. The handle broke I took it back to jcpenney. They basically told me since I had it for that many money they would give me a $15 credit towards another purse. I left. My daughter in law bought me the same purse for Christmas and today 3 months later the handle broke. What kind of quality is this?
