I visited a tenured professor at UDC who was my graduate advisor. Since the graduate program folded she is all thats left but nevertheless I did ask about adjunct instruction. Imagine my shock, sadness, and surprise that she is trying to point me to the world of MOOC (massive open online courses). "Maybe you can find something there," she lisps. Obviously my graduating with high honors is a faded memory. She presides over dead bones. She may have the luxury of daubling in online in her offtime but this joint has all the signs of a wannabee public tech bubble, high on programming with instructors filling in the slots. Read consumer affairs or reviewopedia. I work for a tutoring franchise and my boss who says he is just biding his time for nabbing a govt contract says "I build the business, and the tutors come. We train you to fill in as needed." Well I guess that now I know she really does cheer for the walmrtiztion of higher education and that under her leadership it may just as well accelerate. As long as theres one pensioner left with plenty of privatization stock options in her special portfolio, CHEERS!
