Remote Data Entry Job

I was contacted by Jennie Griffins Im Atlanta for a Remote data entry job that requires me to buy a Walmart gift card to get my work equipment sent to me is this legitimate? Its seems like a scam to me but I need to verify oh and it pays $35 an hour? For data entry? PLEASE respond to this so I dont lose anything. Thank you
