Refusal of Refund

DO NOT BUY FROM ANDERSON'S FURNITURE &;;;;;;;;;;;; APPLIANCE!!! My family experienced a house fire at the beginning of September 2020. We visited Anderson's to replace our washer and dryer and purchased a matching set on 09/15/2020. We were advised at the time of the purchase that we had a period of 30 days to contact the company about any issues that we have with the product. At first, our washer was great, but we had issues with the dryer. It tumbled and heated the clothes, but it did not dry them. After a few days, we began having issues with the washer as well. As soon as the washer plugged into the wall, it would trip the breaker. We contacted the company about our issues after roughly a week and a half of owning the product. They agreed to pick up both units for repair. When the two men arrived, they were under the impression that only the washer was getting picked up. We advised them that both were inoperable and were supposed to be picked up. The two men then had a conversation in which one of the men advised that they should take the dryer, but the other said that he wasn't going to take it. They did not take the dryer and we were told that we needed our maintenance to check the ventilation. We had maintenance check the ventilation and it still did not work. We waited about 3 weeks with no contact and contacted the company on 10/17/2020. We expressed that we were dissatisfied with the service that we received. They advised that there was an unexpected issue with their technician being out of the office and that they had to order a replacement part for the washer. They apologized for the service and advised that someone will come by and pick up the dryer either that following Monday or Tuesday (10/19 or 10/20). We waited all week with no contact. I contacted the company again on 10/26/2020. We expressed extreme dissatisfaction with the service that we had received. We requested the company pick up the dryer, keep the washer, and refund our money that we spent on the set. They advised that they "do not provide refunds", but they will come pick up the dryer to evaluate it. I initially advised that if they refused to refund our money, then we will find other ways to obtain it, most likely through legal action. After some discussion, though, I conceded to provide the company with one final chance to make the situation right. They agreed to pick up the dryer the next day and repair both units as soon as possible. They advised that the technician had returned to work and that the replacement part they were waiting for to repair the washer had arrived. I advised that, due to the circumstances, I wanted both units repaired and delivered by 10/28/2020. They advised that they couldn't guarantee that timeframe, but they will do their best. They did pick up our dryer the next day, as promised. However, we have waited an additional seven (7) weeks for a working washer and dryer set with no contact, and over three (3) months since we purchased the set. The communication with this company has been awful. As stated before, our family has suffered a traumatic experience and we are in desperate need of a working washer and dryer set, but this has only added to our stress. We have filed a BBB complaint against this company, but they have refused to respond to the situation and ignored my family's plea for resolution. We do not wish for the washer and dryer to be repaired and returned at this point. We only wish for our money to be refunded. THIS IS THE ONLY RESOLUTION WE WILL ACCEPT. We DO NOT trust this company or their product and we can't recommend going somewhere else enough.
