Payroll Check Fiasco

My husband works EMS and is on duty today. He signed his check from the same company(west coast southern medical transport company) that he has worked for over 14 years and I brought it to my branch of the synovus bank like I have been doing for over 10 years. (never a returned check for either) I requested that the teller make sure the funds were available today (like they have been doing for my husband's payroll checks for YEARS). She said that she couldn't do that... and proceeded to yell into the speaker that we didn't have enough money to cover the payroll check! She told me that I would have to find a Fidelity Bank, cash it there, and then bring it back to deposit into my account.. and THEN it would be available today. WTH? Easter weekend? great... thanks a lot for nothing. I love being treated like trash. I called and spoke to someone in "customer care" and she gave me a lecture about policy and procedure and they cannot help me with individual branches. I don't know why they bother to call that customer care. I called my branch.. and was disconnected on my first 2 attempts.. then, the machine. I am holding my breath that anyone is going to help me and my family. When she asked why I didn't go inside to speak with a personal banker it was because I had my 2 adult autistic sons with me.. and they do not do well if I cannot supervise them closely. What a rotten experience. I hope no one else gets treated like this at a place that has control of your money...
