P1210 failure

We purchased P1210 First Alert in April 2017 but the last few nights May 4-7, 2019 it goes off without smoke or fire. Now, feel like the boy who cried wolf, I do not trust the unit I'm deactivating it. Shame on you for making a faulty product made to save lives but causes the family such angst that they can't sleep in peace. Not sure what to do.
