Non-existent, time-wasting site that promises free movies/TV

1

Today (2/4/2019) I looked online for a website that might let me watch a movie free of charge. Yes: I wanted to get something for nothing. But considering all the times I PAY to get nothing, I figured it was time for a break. There are pages full of alleged sites that promise free movie/TV viewing. I would say perhaps one in ten is legit--and even the ones who offer SOMEthing have largely tenth-rate films that are full of ads you can't skip. The one I'm writing about (LetMeWatchThis) is simply bogus all the way around. On their sign-up page, I was asked to provide an e-mail addy and "verification code" (which I assumed would be e-mailed to me). There was no e-mail sent, no way to submit the form without it, and--most infuriatingly--no working contact info anywhere. If the company is no longer up, why is the ad still there? If it is still up...it shouldn't be. What additionally galls me about virtually all of these sites is that no matter how often they repeat FREE, what they usually mean is that it's "free" to provide them with personal information they can sell. Providing any kind of service is not free. And I will never be reimbursed for the time I wasted finding that out.
