It all sounds great until you submit a claim I am not a risk taker so when I hire motor vehicles, especially in Portugal, I purchase the top up insurance cover to eliminate the excess in case of an incident. This time I decided to take the cover offered by Worldwideinsure which I found by doing a search for "excess insurance for holiday car rentals" Worldwideinsure's site states: "With our insurance, you are covered for the charges applied in the event of theft or damage to any part of the vehicle" I filled in the forms on line, paid the premium and received a professional looking policy document via e-mail. I naturally believed that I was covered. That is, until I put in my claim (S18004753) on 23 November 2018. The claim was submitted on line on a different site, through ClaimEz. The confirmation e-mail which I received from ClaimEz after submitting my claim states as follows: "ClaimEz as [I presume that they mean is] a trading style of Strategic Insurance Services Ltd whose registered office is Sixth Floor, Marlow House, 1A Lloyds Avenue, London, EC3N 3AA (Company Registration Number [protected])" Since my original claim, I have not heard from ClaimEz. Each time that I have submitted a query (either though their web site or via e-mail), I received an automated e-mail response, stating: "The ClaimEz team will endeavour to respond to you within 5 working days." Many "5 working days" have passed and I am no closer to being paid out or even receiving a response which leads me to believe that I may have been scammed. In my experience with genuine insurance companies, I pay my premium, I submit a valid claim and within a few days I receive payment. This is clearly not the case with Worldwideinsure or Strategic Insurance Services Limited or GBG Insurance Limited or Worldwide Travel Insurance Services Ltd or carhire-excess-insurance or ClaimEz, all of which are named in the policy document. Do any of these companies even exist?
