New Yorker’s, don’t shop here
I went to Super Value, on Chambers Street between Broadway and Church. I intended to buy a suitcase. On the right wall, across from the cashier, in the front of the store, there are several suitcases, with prices taped to most of them. I picked up a suitcase that was the same size as the one beside it and and behind it. The suitcase behind the one I grabbed had an 8 1/2 x 11" paper with the price taped to the suitcase. The clerk gave me a higher price. When I showed her where I picked up the suitcase, she ripped the price off the suitcase and told me it was the higher price. The manager refused to honor the advertised price. He said he wasn't going to lose the difference between what she stated and what he advertised. If there is no legal recourse available, then I suggest no one in New York shop there. How can you trust the prices that are being rung up at the cash register?
