My return is not showing up when I call to check the status of my merchandise credit

On 4-29-21, I went to the Macys store in Orland Park,IL to return a Michael Kors purse that cost $198. I never used the purse, the tags were still on it and I brought the box with the order number on it. I was told by 2 very rude female associates that I can only receive around $98 in the form of a merchandise credit. I kept asking why arent I receiving the amount shown that I paid and both associates kept giving me the same confusing answer, It depends on the situation, they kept saying. I had everything I was supposed to. Then they said Id receive an email about the return and I can call and check the status of my credit. I never received the email AND I had to Google the number to check the status and two different representatives said there is NOTHING UNDER MY NAME/ACCOUNT saying I returned a purse . Im FURIOUS AND I HAVE MY credit card statement showing that t paid over $200 for this purse. I demand that a higher up call me about this situation because I will not stop until this gets straitened out ASAP Deann Westberg (708)789-**** a macie8100@***.com User's recommendation: Do not try to return online purchases in the store.
