MTD customer service is covering up distribution problems by just hanging up on people.

Bought a Remington 40v blower that had a bad battery. Called Remington aka MTD and after 4 phone calls they just washed their hands of it and said “send it back to amazon”. Amazon sent me a whole new blower and guess what. DEAD BATTERY! Called MTD for the 5th time and Customer service said they’d send me a new battery but needed to transfer me to tech support first. I got into it with Zack when he refused to send me a battery and insisted I drive 30 miles to the nearest warranty service center. He didn’t like it when I said “We both know you guys have a battery problem and your customer service said you’d send me a replacement”. That REALLY pissed him off and he went into a rant about “that’s not how our warranty process works”. I asked to talk to his supervisor and he put me on hold for over 10 minuets then came back and transferred me to voice mail. I left my name and # and never got a call. SHOCKER! The truth is they won’t send me a good battery because they don’t have any. I must say that everyone I spoke to at MTD was really nice... just ineffective. Zack needs to find a job without direct public contact. So off to the warranty service center and they said “I think it’s a bad battery but the distributor is out of stock and I can’t say how long before they have more”. Again... SHOCKER! I said “I be been trying to deal with MTD customer support” and the service tech said “Good luck with that”. In the meantime I had ordered a Remington 40v string trimmer from Lowe’s. 2 weeks past the promise date I had Lowe’s call MTD to fine out where it was. After 10 min. on the phone they hung up on the Lowe’s associate. He called back and was on the phone with a guy for 10 minutes and on hold for another 5 before they hung up on him again. MTD has a MAJOR distribution problem that they can’t admit to so they just hang up on you.
