August 12, 2021 To whom it may concern: My name is R. I am an employee of Wing Stop located at 16144 State St. South Holland, IL 60473. I began working at this location in April 2021. AJ Patel is the General Manager of this location. Mr. Patel continues to verbally harass and demean me as a person. Some examples are as follows: On Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at 8:56 AM Kia (Asst. Manager) requested that I come into work at 5 pm. I agreed to work and was sent home by AJ after working for approximately 30 minutes. I asked why I was being sent home? Per AJ via the phone "it was too many people, and I was not on the schedule." AJ called me from [protected] on August 3, 2021, and AJ exclaimed "You work for me! I do not need you." I clocked out and went home. AJ Patel called me on August 12, 2021, at 6:16 PM CST and requested that I come into work on this day between the hours of 7 PM or 8 PM until closing. I arrived to work at 7:52 PM and I clocked out around 8:40 PM CST. I was asked to clock out per AJ Patel because "I was not on the schedule and were too many people working." AJ Patel uses racial slurs towards the black employees calling us "[censored]'s". This is deplorable. This was my first job and I never fathomed that I would have to work in these conditions and be called such a nasty name that has plagued the black community for centuries. I put in my two weeks' notice today because I am unable to work in a hostile environment. I am writing this letter so that hopefully no one else experiences this situation at your establishment. The work environment does not embody the core values of Wing stop. Although it is a work environment it is not fun to be called a "[censored]" while working. Kind Regards, R.H. [protected]
