Missed paper; question re: subscription lapse

Paper wasn't delivered; went to report the issue but it said they needed a new credit card, suggesting my subscription had lapsed (but I had no knowledge or notification about that); called but on hold x 6 min, then disconnected; chat room not functioning. I did receive an email from their customer service person the next day. I filled out the information requested but have not heard back yet. User's recommendation: The WSJ is an excellent newspaper but is sometimes slow in response to customer concerns.
