Contracted Jeeves Handyman Services, Clarksburg, MD.to build 4 bookcases that would have a built-in look when completed. Although, I feel the cost of labor was a little on the high side, I still went forward with the company. The handyman assigned to the job informed me the office would tell me the cost of materials. When I called the office, I was quoted the price of between 4 and 6 hundred dollars for materials. On the day of completion, the handyman gave me an invoice for $1,074. 41 for materials. When I questioned it, he informed me the materials were more than I had been quoted by the main office. I was also told that he had all the receipts for the materials and that I would receive a copy of all receipts from the main office. It took me calling three different times to finally get the receipt copies. I do not understand how the main office could quote one price/range and the final invoice for materials is almost double what was quoted. User's recommendation: My recommendation is to be very careful when dealing with this company.
