End of Year incentive where they offer 125% of NADA trade in value if your car is in good or better condition is a gimmick. My Highlander has 18370 miles on it and I am the original owner - it is a garaged vehicle and not driven in the snow. The first deduction was $2000 for tires. These are the factory tires! Still well over 50% on them! Two small rock chips in the front of the hood, about 2mm. That'll cost you. They offered about 9% above NADA good condition trade in. Then, do not expect any deals off of the MSRP except any incentives being offered by Toyota such as the present $2000 rebate for the end of the year Toyotathon. "Oh, it is the 125% trade in offer or dealing on the MSRP, not both" I was told. The salesman even waffled on the "free $10 Starbucks card just for coming in and showing the letter" deal offered in the letter I received in the mail. I pushed on that one. Really, how far away is Starbucks? He said those went the first two days for people coming in just for the free card. Anyone with any math skills knows that for the amount of gas plus time you would spend playing that angle you would be in the hole. I have purchased 5 Highlanders since they came out including a 2001, 2004, 2008, 2010 and 2011 plus sent two customers to Larry H. Miller who also purchased from them. 3 of the Highlanders were for business, two personal. The last two I ended up purchasing from Denver dealers because Larry H. Miller would not make the numbers work, including today's experience. Though I have have had okay service when bringing in my vehicles for scheduled maintenance and highly recommend Paul, a senior service manager, I cannot recommend the sales department. I even called and asked if the 125% offer was legitimate before wasting their time and mine. I would be curious to know if anyone has actually received the full 125% and believe you will not get any discount off of MSRP except the National Toyota rebates. This is seems to me to be misleading advertising, the reason for the rating I have given.
