I also had problems but I have some information that may help others. After One Travel told me I could not get a refund , I negotiated directly with the airlines and I got 2 refunds . One from Copa and one from Aerolineas. It is worth a try. Just go to the website for the airline and fill out the refund request form. It may take a while but you can track the status online.
