CitiMortgage took over a mortgage in approximately 1993-**** from Cypress Financial however Citi never released the lien from our home. Now fast forward, we have refinanced 4 times and this lien has not shown on our title searches but now that we are selling the property this lien from 1993 shows up on our home. Cypress is out of business and we need the lien release from Citi in order to sell the property. We can't get them to file the release correctly (they have it just not signed!). User's recommendation: Check your lien release asap when a bank takes over your loans!
