Lack of insurance that was requested

I am a loyal customer with AT&T. I called the company this past April with a question about my account the representative talked me into insurance on 4 lines, I agreed. Aug 6th 2021 we broke the back of my cousin's iPhone 12 and when I requested a claim I was told by Assurion that I had no coverage. I was on hold approx 6 hours in three days with no resolve. With them and AT&T. They said it would be fraud if they would back track the insurance to April. The phone broke August 6th, finally the insurance was added August 8th. I was told because I had no insurance I could get no resolve. Not fair to me and the managers I dealt kept passing the buck. In the end I just wanted my IPhone 12 256 g either fixed or replaced. I just received a call back from a friendly agent and she offered me a $60 credit, softened the blow some. I am disappointed with AT&T.
