Went to Island Gems in Kingston, Jamaica and bought a ring for my girl for Christmas. Had to get the ring re-sized, which I was told would take a week due to the holidays. Fine. Understandable. Called to see if the ring was available. It wasn't. About a week after we were supposed to pick it up we received a call where the sales lady attempted to talk us into having in plated in silver when we wanted Gold (that's what the ring was when we purchased it). It felt like they were trying to talk us into using a different metal because they were having issues plating the ring... which means if that was the case I should have been informed that right from the beginning when I went to Island Gems Kingston Jamaica. Either way, when we went to pick up the ring my girl had complained the color had changed and she had noticed that it appeared the stones had been crushed and it looked like it must have been damaged while it was being re-sized. We called to inform them of this and were expected to drop everything we were doing immediately to come down, which we couldn't make it at the time. Now, barely 30 days later, the same side that my girl complained looked damaged had a stone fall out. She called to have them look at the ring and she was made to feel like she must have damaged it and that there was nothing they could do without charging us more. After this I left an honest review of Island Gems in Kingston, Jamaica on Facebook and the company removed the Reviews tab from their page right away and deleted the comments I left on their page. Bottom line: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ISLAND GEMS IN KINGSTON!
