I thought Shelter Insurance was great until I filed a claim

I have had Shelter Insurance for my car and home for decades and have had a few minor claims but they were always very accommodating and settled quickly. The premiums were a little higher than some other companies but I thought it was worth it to know they had my back. Then I had a big claim. I totaled my 2017 Lincoln. No other cars were involved and there were no injuries to me or anyone else. The adjuster doesn't return calls and when I call him he has to call his supervisor before he can do anything. He continually blames the collision center holding my car for the delays. I always carried rental car coverage but when I asked for a rental I was told I didn't have it. I never authorized anyone to remove it. I am now paying for a rental out of my pocket. I have not been able to work because I'm not allowed to use a rental car and asked for lost wages. "Oh no, that's not covered on your policy". Their offers have been way below even the average estimated value and I refused their offer. It has been FIVE WEEKS now and nothing has been done. They have treated me like a step child. They could care less about the emotional and financial hardship they have caused me and refuse to compensate me for any of it. I am contacting the Insurance Commissioner and will definitely be taking my business somewhere else. Integrity and customer service is non-existent at Shelter
