Hudl 1 will not recognise my WIFI

Dear Madam/Sir, I bought a Hudl 1 some years ago and have not used it very much over the years. Yesterday I decided it would be a nice idea to give the Hudl to my granddaughter who is 6 years old. I decided to do a factory restore so that she could then download apps of her choice. I was horrified to find that the Hudl would no longer access my Wi-Fi and so could not setup again.
