Disturbing extracurricular studies.

I’ve enrolled in one of the medicine courses half a year ago, following the recommendation of my former schoolmate. I have nothing to regret about, but it feels like I pay for the subjects I don’t need. Is there a possibility to pick out the courses I need for my future profession instead of memorizing the things I will never need for my future profession? PS: I do like the tutors and the attitude of the headmasters. Nevertheless, it does not mean that I’m happy studying the things I find useless.
