I have been trying to be patient with Capital One for the last three years. By reading the negative complaints on here, I now know I am not the only one having these problems with them. They are HORRIBLE! The customer service, DISPICIABLE! So I paid my credit card bill, on Friday, 09/18. As of today 09/22, I called customer no-service department because my payment had not posted. The rep tells me that they are holding my payment until 09/25. When I asked why, she stated that is the way Capital One does it sometimes. I tell her, uh, no you guys have never done that in the 3 years Ive been a customer. She wants to argue with me about unclear justifications, that have nothing to do with me. Telling me it could be the banking institution that is holding up the payment. I pause... for a while, then I inform her, Capital One is my banking institution too. She came back with some more BS, Yes! I said it. I didnt want to deal with stupid today so I ask her for a supervisor. The supervisor, named Donna tells me it could be several reasons why they are holding my payment. I asked her to name those reasons. She named three.....neither applied to me. When I wouldnt bite the bullet, she sites some unheard of policy they have where they could at anytime hold a payment... For any reason or no reason. See BS!!! So Im getting pissed and ready to go off because Im not buying this crap shes spewing at me. I even made the comment that they had never done this before since I been with them the last 3 years. Smart-ass Donna, tells me shes been with the company for 5 years and they have always had this policy. Oh, so she thought I cared about her tenure. Why? We talking about the customer. I told her exactly that and thats when she gave me that fake customer attacking-me script that she is going to have to end the call. So I let her know that I would be pursuing this issue further. So what Capital One is really doing is holding payments, so that they can collect late fees and other banking fees. Charging my accounts, to get those fees. Last time I looked, that was illegal. I will also be making a formal complaint with the AG office here in Texas and the BBB. Someone needs to investigate Capital Ones business practices and I am going to use my resources to make sure it happens.
