Dental First Financing Mismanagement

1

I am a teacher in Cleveland Ohio (but am originally from Camillus, New York). I have excellent dental and medical insurance as a teacher. My dependents are all covered under my medical and dental plan (Met Life) and Medical Mutual. My dependents and myself have all had extensive dental treatment and all 5 children have had braces, including myself over the last 15 years (without ever having to apply for a dental credit card). Both my children/dependents had to have their 4 molars removed,.....so I looked up dentists, in my network, that removed molars and could remove these molars (before my children went back to college). There were several specialized dentists listed for Aspen dental and fairly close to my home......so I made an appointment with Aspen and their father took both children to have x-rays, then a week later have their molars removed. They both requested anesthesia as they had anxiety about the procedure. Now the issue. I am not sure if my son/dependent was PRESSURED INTO APPLYING FOR A CREDIT CARD WITH ASPEN or if their father pressured my son/dependent to open a dental credit card???? But as previously stated, I have excellent dental and medical coverage for myself and for my dependent children. I also made sure they had my dental card information and telephone numbers when they had the procedure done. Once I found out about this dental credit card(???), I went into the dental office and inquired why that process was necessary. WITH ALL OF MY OWN history of DENTAL WORK done, I HAVE NEVER, EVER BEEN REQUESTED TO OPEN A DENTAL CREDIT CARD??? Now this dental credit card company calls my son at college and me at work regarding an outstanding dental bill of $1,300+. I have contacted my insurance company (Medical Mutual) who paid for the anesthesia for both dependents and contacted (Met Life), my extended Dental plan and submitted all documentation, bills, x-rays, medical codes, permission to speak with forms..... to both companies. I also called and spoke with Aspen dental quite a few times, in Mayfield Heights, Ohio as recently as today (but was put on hold then hung up on). The office indicated that there is a "CREDIT" on my dependent's account there......but no one seems to be paying the dental credit card company??? And why would I/my dependent pay for a credit card when (I HAVE EXCELLENT MEDICAL AND DENTAL COVERAGE FOR MYSELF AND MY DEPENDENTS)?? My dental plan even covers implants up to $2000 each year. Now my son and I are being harassed by this creditor for payment....even thought most of their procedures have been covered by my insurance.....and what is this interest their talking about????? Teachers do not make a lot of money but thank God for excellent coverage. Please contact me ASAP regarding this annoying matter. Thank you.
