Decline in credit scores
I received a preapproved certificate to purchase a car from Jack Schmitt Chevrolet in Wood River, Ill. in April. this certificate gave me $7,500 financing. when i entered the dealership I was asked if I was there for the 2014 Chevy Traverse and I let them know that I was there to see if I could purchase a vehicle. I gave the vehicle preapproved certificate, proof of income for me and my wife and all information they requested. While the person in financing was checking out my informaton I look for a vehicle on the lot. After about an hour I was told that I could not purchase the vehicle I picked. then they came out with the 2014 Traverse. That was not wht I wanted, so I left the dealership and never returned. then I started receiving letters from different finance companies throuhout the US. The letters mentioned that I had applied for a loan to purchase the 2014 Traverse and the loan was denied. I never agreed to apply for a loan for anything. before all this my credit score was 662 and after all these so called loan applications my credit score is now 602. Today I received another vehicle preapproved certificate at Auto Plaza Breckenridge. I don"t know what the approved amount is because I"m affraid my credit score will go down even lower. At this time I am trying to rebuild my credit score. What gets me. To help my finance get her payments brought up to date with Santander in 2002. I paid the car off in full. Now I receive a vehicle preapproved certificate April 2020. I guess when that didn"t go through I received a second certificate today. Even though I am desperately in need for a vehicle, I am affraid to go any further because I can"t afford to have my credit score drop any lower. I pay my bills on time monthly to increase my credit score. Every time I go on line to try to obtain a copy of my credit report, all I get is steps tosee my credit score. What am I supposed to do. User's recommendation: BE VERY CAREFUL WITH PURCHASING A VEHICLE.
