Customer service and dispute of a charge

Currently waiting for Citibank to make a refund of $322.92 from an online Home-depot purchase in April. Basically I purchased an item on line, when it arrived it was the wrong color. Called the number provided by Home-depot. Representative arranged for the return via UPS. UPS picked up the item the very next day. In less than two weeks the item was back at their warehouse. The return was not credited to my account. When I contacted HD I was told it my responsibility to open a dispute with the credit card company because they want additional documents regarding the return. You have the UPS tracking numbers, and the merchandise. What else could be needed? In the meantime I contacted the attorney general office in SD because this is crazy to say the least. Last call to them requesting my payment via check and will be closing my account. Not worth the hassles.
