Couldn’t lend any financial help for a large repair

My 2007 GTI is in need of a new timing belt. Est. repair is $1625.00. This part is not under any warranty. Lost my job after Covid hit and can't afford entire cost of repair. Asked VW for some small financial assistance and was turned down. Maybe just a few hundred but was turned down. This is my 3rd VW. 2 from Jennings in Glenview, IL 60025 and another from a dealer in Wisconsin. This repair is extremely important because if the timing belt goes...the entire car is destroyed.
