Could not check in day before flight “payment attempts exceeded” and “error checking in”

For some reason, my flight change registered in their system but did not charge my card. It kept saying "payment attempts exceeded". I was only able to notice this as a problem a day before my flight when attempting to check in. It kept giving me an error message, not letting me check into my flight. I called the customer service line only to be kept on hold for 3 hours. DO NOT PRESS 8 TO LET THEM CALL YOU BACK. They never will. After about 3 hours and 10 minutes, a representative picked up and fixed the situation for me. Just be patient! User's recommendation: Be patient and just leave your phone on hold for 3 to 4 hours. DO NOT PRESS 8 and DO NOT aggravate the representatives. Mine was very sweet even though she was clearly exhausted and annoyed.
