Corelle square salad plate

1

I microwaved a few small cut up bites of noodle casserole for only 1 minute, using a 2 yr old, solid white, square shaped Corelle salad plate. A minute after it was done cooking, I heard an explosion & the sound of breaking glass. Not knowing the source, I opened my overhead microwave and found large pieces of broken glass along with very tiny bits of shattered glass that fell out all over my gas stove top. If I hadn't let my food sit in the microwave for that extra minute, after it was done cooking, it likely would have exploded in my bare hand. I'm shocked and angry to learn, as stated by many on this site, that this has been a frequent and on-going problem. Now, I'm afraid to use any Corelle, including my set of baking dishes. I can't donate my Corelle because of the risk it poses, so I am discarding all of it.
