Copa Airlines Trip to Pandama

Book 4 round trip flights from SFO to Panama City Panama through Travles Help Desk (THD) in May of 2020. We were to depart on Dec 16 202 and stay until Dec. 31st 2020. Our credit card was charged $3, 227.56. These where direct flights and included all taxes and fees. The airlines was Copa Air, who is the largest carrier flying to Central Ameria. In Sept. 2020 we called Travelers Help Desk to find out about how Covid-19 was going to impact our trip. We were told by Travelers Help Desk (THD) that no flight were allowed to fly from US to Centrial America. We had to cancel our trip, but they would not give us a refund for our tickets. We were told that the only thing we can do is extend the flight until next year, but it was going to cost us an additonal $240. We agreed to pay the additonal fee to save our trip. Then we called back THD in May of 2021 to and was told that we had unitl end of May to rebook our trip or lose our credit. When we tried to schedule for the new trip, the airlines didn't have many flights from our airport. And all the flight where double and triple the costs we orginally paid. Again we tried to get a refund for this trip, now out $3, 227.56 + $240. THD stated that the airlines was not giving refunds and if they did they would go bankrupt. We re-booked the flights for Nov of 2021 since Dec dates would of costs us an additonal 2k. The new flights costs us an additonal $519. and we had to leave on a Tuesday and come back on a Wednesday, before Thnaksgiving. This impacted our work and school schedule, but was willing to go since we are not into this trip a total of $3, 986.56. We thought we werer all set, then got a phone call from Indian agent named Ross, stating that Copa Air rejected flight booking. They would not honor a United Air LInes conneting flight from RDU to DC airport where Copa now flys out of. Again we requested a refund from THD, again was denied the request. We were left no other option, but to dispute the chartes through our credit card Capitol One. Fast forward to Aug 2021, just got off the phone with Capitol One and they stated that THD would not refund us our tickets. We paid in good faith $3, 986.56 for a Panama trip that we never went on. Travelrs Help Desk states it is not their fault that the Pandemic cancelled all the flights, Copa Airlines states we didn't buy ticket from them, Capitol One states we are still trying to fight for our refund. We filled a complaint with Department of Justice, in CA, got a former letter saying they would review, no other word from them. I guess the only other thing we can do is let everyone know that this company is dishonest. Cliams to be a California company but everone you talke to is from India and have very heavy accents. Next stop is to talk to a lawyer!
