complaint against a Highland Park IL employee

on saturday 4/24 around 4 pm CST, I went to Thortons like I do everyday. the ccustomer line was very long. there were two people behind the counter, a man and a woman. the man seemed to be the only person waiting on customers. the woman was running around behind the registers but not waiting on customers. she than came out and went towards the office. I asked her if there was any other employee to help to decrease the line. her response?? you need to learn patience. I'm looking for the key for the gas cylinders. she finally went back behind the register. by now the long line was even longer. I had an appointment and could not wait. I counted out exact change and put it down and told her I was leaving it bc I had an appointment. her response? that's theft and I will call the police! the man behind the counter told her to let me go ahead and leave it. believe me I wasn't trying to steal anything. I put my money down. this person is a poor reflection on your company. I realize good help is hard to find, but please fire her. she was rude to a customer and clearly does not know how to solve problems. I almost called the police to file charges for verbal harrassment. I had a headache for an hour after leaving the store. this is a busy store and not having enough help is a common issue. but sometimes Dawn the manager is in the back without a clue of what's going on. one employee Sue NEVER calls for help and numerous times I've had to let Dawn know there is a long line. Jen is the only employee at that store who is smart, efficient, and kind. She puts in 200%. I've known her a long time and Thornton's is lucky to have her.
