Compensation for work left damaged

1

Update by user Oct 31, 2020 I feel that I should be compensated for the repairs to the damage done by employees of Ramsay One. Just walking away from damage is not professional or acceptable. Update by user Jun 25, 2020 In 2019 I was hospitalized for two weeks and spent three weeks in a skilled nursing home. It has taken a long time to recuperate and I have been hesitant to get more estimates due to the corona virus. I have not spoken to Ramsay One since I was ill. Since my complaints were not addressed by the contractor I am submitting negative reviews of this company. I no longer wish to deal with this contractor as he has been very aggressive towards me. I am looking for refunds so I can hire another company to do it right. Also refund the money I have already paid, for work not done correctly or were damaged by Ramsay One. I have met other people that have had similar bad experiences with Ramsay One. I was notified that another client has submitted a claim against the bond insurance company for Ramsay One. I have tried to resolve this problem with Ramsay One many times with no results. Original review posted by user Jun 25, 2020 I don't recommend this contractor today as he has walked away from the damage that his employees have done to my mobile home and my personal residence. I have contacted the bond company and the contractor's state license board regarding the concerns. I have been working with this contractor since 2017 and work was completed in December 2018 after several months. Ramsay One has worked on other homes in the park and was recommended. I have paid close to $50K for work done but not all done correctly. I knew that Ramsay One had a good history working in our park but not today. Compared to the other quotes he was the most expensive, but I was willing to the pay for premium. The painters damaged a TV and a piano and several other things. They are no longer employed by Ramsay One. For example, I bought a new drop cloth to cover the flooring and it was taken, it was $40. Yes, the TV was old and Ramsay said he could buy one for $50, it was never replaced. We purchased a new TV. The piano top has gouges from tools. It is an old piano that belonged to a great grandmother and has sentimental value. The quartz countertop installed is cracked, I have been told by another fabricator that it was installed incorrectly. The company where I purchased the quartz will replace the quartz but will not install it because Ramsay One installed the quartz. The estimates I have received is $2,900 for labor only. I agreed to a fix Ramsay One had proposed. I thought it would be less invasive to repair than replace. Ramsay One had the fabricators return and glue the crack, they used a clamp and have taken the shine away. The crack is still very visible, and I was told by the quartz company it would only get larger. Not sure if it is porous now. The hoses in laundry room were replaced by Ramsay One, but not installed correctly, they leaked and damaged the newly installed flooring. Ramsay One would not take responsibility for this damage. A plumber was called to fix the hoses and the original flooring company returned to repair the damage and replace the flooring at my expense. I also purchased three bathroom faucets for Ramsay One to install. While installing one faucet the sink cracked, Ramsay One took no responsibility. Another faucet did not have hot water, I was told by Ramsay that the mixer was damaged. I hired another plumber that replaced the sink and reinstalled the faucet. The plumber also found a kink in the hot water line; that was the hot water problem not a mixer. Ramsay One did not fix some things that had been broken or damaged during construction. My kitchen remodel was not done correctly, blaming me for the design error. The drawers did not open because the range was in the way, so I finally agreed to have my cabinets altered after many meetings to fix this error. It looks much better now but the drawers still hit the range. These drawers were built by the cabinetmaker that fixed the design problem. Many things that were completed by Ramsay were big improvements, it looks much better. Three faucets that were installed at my primary residence, two had to be installed again. One faucet installation cracked the sink, Ramsay One said it was an old sink.?? Another bathroom faucet did not have hot water and the mixer was blamed. I have recently hired a plumber to replace the sink at my primary residence and to reinstall the faucets. This plumber also found the hot water line was kinked. I liked most of the work that had been done on my mobile home but the biggest concerns were not corrected after many contentious meetings. I felt that these problems could be fixed, and I was willing to work with this company. To date this has not happened. I continue to pursue these issues in other venues. Small claims court seems to be in the horizon now. User's recommendation: Be alert.
