First, there were no instructions from priceline or the rental agency regarding arrival and two (2) shuttle transfers to get to the check-in couinter. First, find pink bus pickup location to take van to off airport car rental central depot. A cheap stop on century boulevard. Wait for the economic/allied car van. The telephone nuimber puts the customer through a fone dialogue tree such that if you don't pick the right choice, you have to dial a second time and try something else, all in the noisy vehicle pick up areas outside of lax. The phone is answered by hardly legible english speaking staff. Next on arrival after taking the g5 van and then the agency van, customer arrives as third world dirty storefront location for bizarre check-in. Like no one trusts you to have a license, insurance, rental agreement - third world as if every client is committing a robbery or felony by entering the door. Had to come up with insurance declaration for gods sake. An insurance declaration and a $400 deposit. Wait in the back of the agency frontage in a miserable parking lot garage entry area - all dirty and trashy and worn out as if we've landed in the 1950's. No intent here to make a vacation any more pleasurable than a visit to the garbage dump. Wait wait wait for the car. A well-used noisy 40, 000 mile nissan rickety at slow speeds. Numerous dents to be checked off with the rental dispatch guy. Obviously front-fender-bender ample evidence - enough dents and rust to require taking pictures so that a return would not result in finger pointing as to who did all the damage as the car was checked out. Return of vehicle not much more elegant, and certainly not "fast" waiting for the lax van. More time hanging around the trash site in front of the do not enter door and emergency evacuation door. A rotten way to front and back end a vacation. Why is priceline using this cheap provider? why? who approved deal-making with economy | alliled rental car?
