broken oil line
2
On 04/16/19 I limped into your Solon, Ohio shop #869 in my 2008 Toyota Avalon with a blinking oil light and a loud engine. Your mechanic Ken quickly analyzed the situation as a failed oil line and made me aware of an existing Toyota recall for this problem. I immediately got on the phone with Toyota and was told the problem was VIN specific and my vehicle didn't qualify and in no case would they pay for the repair. I left the vehicle at Mr.Tire with the assurance that it would be fixed. The bill for an oil change and replacement of a piece of hd braided hose came to $524.75. As I read the bill (never got an estimate or explanation from Manager ob Tengler, nor did I say I didn't want the parts) this consisted of oil change $36.99 and Toyota oil hose $59.99, Shop Supply Fee?? of $39.00 and Sales Tax $38.88, leaving Labor at $349.89. At your bench rate of $119 this computes to roughly 2.9 man hours of labor. According to Toyotas cost calculator this job requires 1.0 hours of labor. As I got in my car to leave I noticed that I did not have a windshield oil change reminder and had to go back in to request one. For the record the shop area was dirty, disorganized, and in my estimation dangerous. A couple years ago my son-in-law bought tires for his Ford truck there and they installed the wrong graded tires resulting in a dangerous episode on the interstate. Aside from your man Ken, I cannot say anything good about this location. James Valvoda 845 Jennifer Lane Macedonia, OH 44056 [protected]
