Be VERY wary…

1

Be VERY wary... I gave them a try on a suggestion from the local Suddenlink office and when I got my phone and activated it, the service was non-existent. I tried for a week to get help with their worthless support app chat and kept getting told it was being escalated and would be resolved in 12-36 hours. The local office couldn't help me either and there was no way to call or talk to anyone about it other than the app which I also had issues with keep it connected too. It never was resolved and each day I got the same answer, so after a week of this I told them I wanted to return the phone and I wanted my money back. They wouldn't even acknowledge the conversation and just kept repeating they would escalate. I then returned to my old carrier and their porting department flagged the number as in conflict causing me to go another 3 days without a phone. I finally get that resolved and have working service again to get told by their support that it had been more than 14 days since my order and I couldn't return their phone. The service never worked, the phone is useless to me and is still in it's original condition and packaging. They argue that they tried calling me... on a number that they knew the issue was that I wasn't receiving inbound calls. Then then call me again 10 days after all of this to "follow up" on me wanting to discontinue my service so that I wouldn't be billed more... my phone had been ported back to my current carrier for 2 weeks at this point. What the *** were they going to charge me for? Oh... and of course they wanted to inform me that they would be billing me for the remaining balance of the phone... the one that I had been asking to return since the 1st of the year. I ordered my phone on the 12-16, got it on 12-21, I was out of town so I activated it on 12-26... I never had full functional service and started trying to get help on the 27th and was strung along thru the 3rd. But they want to bill me for the phone, plus the original $20 start up, and the monthly service fee that hit on 12-31 for something that never worked. To me... this is dishonest and borders on intentional deception and theft. I'm refuting all charges thru my bank. Altice can do the right thing or my bank can force them to... either way, the phone will be waiting in its original packaging for a RMA shipping label. This has got to have been to worst experience of my life with any carrier or service. I will add the Suddenlink office personnel and the porting department personnel were all friendly and empathetic to the situation but had no ability assist in any way because of how compartmentalized Altice is. Buyer Beware! Stear very clear of this company if you are not in an established service area where you KNOW it will work and have access to an actual local store.
