So I started out with Amerigas when we bought our home in Charlevoix in 2018; I encountered problems with them when, after a couple of years and my propane costs were nearly $3 gallon, to inquire about getting a lower rate. Customer service kept me on hold for an inordinate amount of time [about twenty minutes] only to come back and tell me that they had neglected to invoice me for a fill two years prior, and than I needed to pay that bill [around $500] right away. Not encouraging. As I found a much better rate with another company, I ended my service with Amerigas. They claimed ownership of of the tank that was built in 1986 and wanted to pick it up. After they did so I received a bill for $149.99. Lesson? They will stick it to you every way they possibly can. User's recommendation: Use a competitor, any competor.
