I live in Michigan. In our area applications are usually by paper at the police station. I went to get an app and they said this year it would be online and that they didn't even have a donation box in there lobby yet..(coordinator was late). I filled out my application and a confirmation email was sent back saying they received it. I talked to my area coordinator twice and she said this week was my city's pick up week. She is in hospital now only as of yesterday, but I finally reached the supervisor and forwarded the email to him. He says now that the deadline has passed but I filled out the application online back in November to which the email said it was received. It is now the 20th of December and he said I didn't do the application right. I know this a charitable program but I never received any information of anything being wrong until a few hours ago. I believe my state and area coordinators may have made mistakes especially because of the online format. As a single mom of a disabled child I really, really wish I would have had better notice
