I had my vehicle's latest recall done at Cloninger Toyota in Salisbury, NC in December 2019. At that time, they put me on their mailing list without asking me AND without my permission to do so. I started receiving post card promo mailings from them almost immediately. In June 2020, I noticed that they were printing my VIN in several places on the post card, right along with my name and address. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF MY PRIVACY. style=" I contacted them by phone on 04 June 2020, and told them to remove me from their mailing list. Since then, I have continued to receive the same type of mailings, and I have complained over and over again to the company. All I've gotten is the run-around from every person I have talked to (in person and on the phone). On 01 Sep 2020, I again went to the main showroom and asked for the general manager. Someone else (of course) came out instead, with the same blah-blah-blah crapola I have been told since June. I responded with my raised voice. I was then told to stop "yelling" at him. Well, sir, do you know how to get me to stop "yelling" at you? DO YOUR DAMN JOB, AND STOP SENDING ME YOUR JUNK MAIL!!! Today, 10 Sep 2020, I received yet another junk mail promotion from Cloninger Toyota with my VIN prominently displayed on the post card. I again went down to the main showroom and finally got to speak with General Manager Richard Hardin. Unfortunately, I got the same verbal garbage from him as I had previously gotten from other employees. And, when I told him that what he was telling me just wasn't the truth (based upon my experiences with other Toyota dealers in the past 10 years), he accused me of calling him a liar. I responded that he either isn't telling me the truth or he doesn't know the truth. He again said I was calling him a liar, as he looked over to two other employees who had magically appeared in his office like some kind of witnesses/henchmen. Then he told me to leave the building or he was calling the police. I walked out of his office and the building with Mr Hardin shadowing me and staying in my face until I got to the door. I have filed a formal complaint with Toyota corporate against Cloninger Toyota generally, and Mr Hardin specifically.
