Went to VA to have pinched nerve in back and leg pain repaired January-2018 . I was sent to primary care who said I needed a hip replacement. I saw hip x3, knee, back x2, physical therapy x2, and emergency, Doctors. I Requested an EMG feb-2018 to find out where the nerve was damaged. EMG was not preformed. Finally had back surgery 6/27/18. Repaired slipped disc but pinched nerves still persisted with no change. Finally forced Hip Dr. to request and EMG like I wanted 20 months ago. Took three months to get the EMG. Choice program wasted 2 months and did not even get me an appointment. VA hospital finally got me a EMG in March 2019. April 16 was told by VA hospital back surgery was needed again to elevate pinched nerve. I as told on April 16 2019 the VA was not authorized to preform that back surgery and I needed to go through the choice program. Could have been told this in 07/2018 if the EMG had been done as I requested. I cannot sit, stand up, walk or even roll over in bed without severe pain in left leg, groin and back. I now need a disc placed in my back that requires a vascular and back surgeon to preform the placement. I need my surgery expedited through the Tri-West system.
