Cannot see water level in my new Instachill mobile air cooler

I have not been able to contact Brand developers by phone, advised to use email. When I put water in the cooler the little viewing window is dark black and I cannot see the level. even using strong torch light. Can you help me? I am 80 and live on my own. Thank you for a helpful reply. Jim Clarke
