Update by user Dec 12, 2019 All the promises of fixing the damage they caused In my home weren’t fixed by them. I had to do all repairs. The window sash has to be replaced and it still is very difficult to crank out or back in. The permit to perform the work arrived last week dated after the actual work was completed. The building inspector fined them for that. When the building inspector was here he refused to sign off because of the many mistakes made and poor workmanship with the installation. Update by user Nov 11, 2019 If they approach you at BJs Wholesale Clubs keep walking Original review posted by user Nov 11, 2019 8/29 Power Home Remodeling sent rep to visit our property, while he was here he said everything was perfect with the exception of one Bay Window in the front of the home. All Windows have been replaced with high quality Pella and Anderson Windows throughout the home. We sat through the demo of how efficient Power Home Remodeling windows are and the quality of the craftsmanship was superior and guaranteed even if the home sells and it can be transferred to the new owners. I admit the demo and information presented convinced us to order a new bay window. Pre-inspection was done in September and was noted that we did not have replacement shingles they need to order some to match our roof. 10/1 Window was scheduled to be installed – received a call they are behind on production and needed to be pushed out. 10/8 Window scheduled to be installed - receive a call in between that they can’t find the window. After expressing my dissatisfaction thus far with the project management and scheduling I speak to a woman who tells me that the window showed up that day on a truck and would be installed on 10/8 as originally planned. 10/8 2 young men arrive and begin working to remove the existing window, I asked that they do not leave any nails or debris when they are done because we have grandchildren who play in the yard. Everything seemed to be going well until they need to bring the window into the house through my front door. This window weighs between 350-400 lbs and they are struggling to get it off the tuck and into the house. (They needed to have a hoist or lift / staging equipment to do this correctly) They were told that equipment was on another job and they couldn’t use it. It took over an hour to get the window into the split-level home up the stairs.Damages oFront storm door was extended and held open for so long it no longer closes properly oWhile in and out of my home they knocked off several caps to my stone wall which my husband repaired himself the next weekend. oFront door frame and casing severely gouged – They replaced door molding and put wood putty on the casing. oScratches and gouges in the sheet rock, bannister gouges out of baseboard molding and kitchen door frame and moldings. oThey begin installing the window and rebuilding the roof over the window, they didn’t have the correct shingles (wrong color) after many calls back and forth to the office they finally find the shingles they need, one guy goes off to pick them up. oThis happened to be the day of the big storm that was coming that evening and its was already starting to rain. Correctly shingles get installed during the rain storm as well as moldings around the exterior. Not all the caulking got completed. oMoldings around the window were not secured properly or caulked inside. oTested the Window cranks the next morning as it was torrential downpours night before while they were trying to complete the install and put up new pine door moldings. I had a very hard time with the left window cranking out or closing (Very poor design for the crank system not user friendly) Unable to lock the left window without brute force. oNoticeable heat loss from this window since 10/8 (32 Days my heating system could not the rooms up to temp.) All Electric home 404.00 a month and I lost 1 months’ worth of heat due to the subpar workman ship. • Project Manager comes out to inspect the work and our complaints and assures us all of these problemsand damages will be fixed by them and he will make sure we are happy with the company and its product. •PM schedules someone from PHR to come out 11/4 ok sure arrange my work schedule once again due to poor scheduling. Got a call from PHR that need to reschedule in 11/9 will arrive between 8-10 AM Get a call at almost 10am they are running behind will be there by 1 no show until 5:15PM •Guy arrives and tries to get the Storm door to close properly (still not 100%) Window sash on the left side is too big by ¼ inch needs to order new sash Damaged frame around kitchen door they will bring when the come with the new window sash. Window molding inside and out needed to be caulked and inside molding needed additional nails this was causing the heat to escape. Also had them caulk around the door frame moldings. No other repairs were done Eric told my husband we need to do our own staining of which would hide all the scratched in the wood for the bannister and to spackle and repaint the wall. More unmet promises - no break for the extra heat we lost for 32 days – when this windows was ordered there was no quality control done to make sure the windows opened and closed correctly. Guys response when I told him how unhappy we are with the workmanship and skill of the crew they sent to install the window, company and the quality of the window the scheduling and broken promises – He said “ I am here now and I don’t get paid for this” NICE!! We are supposed to pay $6915.53 for this lovely experience. I would prefer they remove the window and I will get another window company in here - Every time I look at this window I will be reminded of how we got scammed.
